My approach

I am an existential psychotherapist; I approach my work with a client from a philosophical perspective. This means bringing an attitude of curiosity to exploring life’s struggles. I invite clients to discover the aspects of their lives where they can bring about change, finding those areas that must be endured and how they may tolerate the tension that is created by that difference. This anxiety is present in all our lives, by offering a space to think about this, a clarity can be revealed that supports the responsibility we have for the choices we make.

My qualifications and experience
I come from a creative arts background; this informs my practice. I believe that the open, trusting and courageous collaboration required in the arts is also required in the therapeutic relationship.
I trained first as an integrative psychotherapist gaining my PGDip at Regents University. I then went on to complete a year’s specialism in working with adolescents, whilst in post as the initial consultation coordinator with Riverside Counselling in Henley. I returned to Regents to complete an MA in existential phenomenology, followed by a PGCEP in the same subject. I am committed to exploring my continued professional development studying many areas including trauma, abuse, eating, family dynamics, the body, sexuality and gender, intersectionality, grief and loss amongst many other subjects.
I enjoy working with in the charity sector as well as in private practice.

My philosophy

From time to time most of us will find ourselves being overwhelmed or confused by our experience of life. Friends or family may be there to support us, but it can be helpful to talk to someone independent of your close circle. I offer a different way of exploring life’s struggles. You may have a very specific challenge you are facing, perhaps a loss, a change of circumstance or relationship difficulties. You could be experiencing a more existential sense of feeling lost in life. I will introduce creative ways of exploring a client's world. I find playful curiosity is a way of revealing parts of ourselves we have not been able to see before. I offer an open but safe environment to find answers to life's challenging questions.
